Brewery Experience Days: Calling all Bristol based beer lovers! This brewery experience
gives you a special behind-the-scenes look at everything that
happens to get that sweet amber nectar into the bottle - and the
chance to learn a few tricks of the trade while you're at it.
 If
you're interested in learning more about the beer making process,
from barley to bottle, this might just be the experience for
 you.
The day begins with a drink at the Bristol Brewhouse and Kitchen
 - a hot drink (it's only 10am, but beer o'clock is just around the
corner!) and an introduction to the day, then it's time to get to
work and do some mashing in - mixing the crushed grains with hot
 water.
After mashing in you'll be treated to tasting your first
beer (or 5!), a bacon roll and a discussion about what's actually
happening to the mixture in the mash tun.
 Next up, with beer in
hand, is the transfer, re-circ and sparge (don't worry, these will
all be explained to you by the brewer!), then digging out the mash
 tun and starting the boil.
This takes you up to lunch time.
 Lunch
is provided in the pub, and you'll be glad to know it's definitely
 beer o'clock.
.
.
again! After lunch, you'll get back to work.
 You'll
add more hops to the mixture, as well as kettle finings, which make
sure the finished product is nice and clear.
Now all there is to do
is transfer the brewing beer to the fermenter, where it will stay
 until it's ready for drinking.
Throughout the day, you'll get the chance to taste a range of
unique Brewhouse and Kitchen craft beers and ales, with tasting
guidance from your expert brewer, and of course your glass will
remain topped up, throughout the day.
Upon leaving, you will receive a certificate and a 5L mini-keg
of brewed beer (valued at £25) to take home on the day.
Alternatively if you would like to take your own brewed beer home,
then the beer will need time to ferment so the keg will be ready
for collection 2 weeks after the experience day.
If you love the taste of a crisp, cold beer but you have no idea
how it's made, you've always dreamed of making your own home brew,
or you're looking for the perfect experience gift for someone who
enjoys their pint, this full day brewery experience in Bristol is a
great introduction to the brewing process.
 Bottoms up!
